Hi jgandee and welcome.
I am sorry that you are dealing with this frightening issue. Anxiety and its symptoms can be very difficult to deal with.
First of all, you will want to get an appointment with your doctor for a full physical, and at that time also discuss your symptoms and experiences.
It is most likely that you are dealing with anxiety, but only your doctor can determine that for sure.
Once you have...you two can discuss your different treatment options. Many people find therapy, medication and/or self-help...or a combination of these to be the way to recovery.
In the meantime, check out the coping skills suggested in our Resources (main page, 1st post). The breathing, relaxation and meditation links/videos are excellent in lower stress levels and reducing symptoms. Even if you don't feel stressed, they are still effective, so practice everyday for a week and see how you feel.
