Increase from 150 mg. Effexor to 187.5 mgs.Worse side effects - why?

I have been on this forum many times posting to try and help people, this time I have a question as I am feeling probably the worst I have ever felt on an increased dosage. I went from 150 mgs. to 187.5 - tomorrow will be 10 days since I went on it. The minute it hits my stomach I am nauseous, have diarrhea and just all around don't feel good. None of the other increases ever bothered me like this one. Do I just need more time on it? Anybody else had this problem on a higher increase - does it get any better. Thanks so much.

Hello and I am sorry to read of your problems. I am the one on 300mg of Effexor and I have to admit that I noticed some increase in anxiety with the dose increases but no stomach problems.

I do take my meds every morning with food so you may want to be sure to take your meds with food, not shortly before or a bit after.

Also more time may help and if it doesn't do check in with your Dr.
