Hi BKM,
That is a very hard situation to deal with, and I feel for you. On the one hand, your dad is an adult, and can make his own decisions...but on the other, how does one sit back and watch it happen, right?
I am not sure what is the right thing to do here...other than love him and let him know that he can come to you guys for help if he needs it. However, it doesn't sound like he wants to make any changes at this time.
I would think that he would understand that as a busy mom, you can't risk your and your kid's health by being in and unhealthy environment.
Perhaps you can at least agree to meet somewhere for lunch, (or have him over) if that is possible. This way you can spend time with him, but not have to be around the house and the contamination there.
I hope that you can find some peace about this. You are doing what is best for you and your kids, and that is what you need to prioritize...so good job, and no guilt.
Wishing a less anxious day for you tomorrow.
S.C.
