Question

Hi

I'm almost eight weeks pregnant,and was wondering if anyone knows if you can take pre natal vitamins while taking citalopram??
I can't get an appointment with my GP till next week to ask him!
I could do with a few vitamins as i seem to have lost my appetite a little!!

I agree that the internet should not be used rather than Doctors.

Pharmacists can be an excellent source of information on medications though. In the U.S., pharmacists were previously RPh, or Registered Pharmacists. They now are Pharmacy D (Doctor of Pharmacy).

A good Pharmacist's knowledge of medication, side effects, contraindications, interactions, and suitability, can easily surpass that of a good doctor. Be that as it may, the doctor prescribes. If on the advice of my pharmacist it was felt that a specific medication was not in my best interest, I would of course approach the doctor with that info, or endeavor to have the pharmacist do so.

In the instance cited here, I wholeheartedly agree that the doctor is the best avenue, but wanted people to know that good pharmacists can be a valuable tool in their healthcare.
