Effexor side effects

Hey guys,

MY pcp put me on Effexor XR for depression and anxiety, and ive been having some side effects. Accelerated heart rate, tingling sensation all over my body, some chest tightness, and insomnia. Should i stop taking it and ask for a new one? Or push through the side effects, anyone else experinced this?

I would give your doctor a call. It can be hard to distinguish between what could be increased anxiety (common upon start up of an A/D med) and what could be a side effect.

I would say that these symptoms or s/e's would indicate that you should talk with your prescribing doc, just to be on the safe side, and to make sure that you are tolerating this Rx, with just the expected effects.:)
