jl,A bunch of big warm hugs is what this " Dr. " recommends. In fact we could share some as I have been having an increase in anxiety and mine is of the anticipatory anxiety type. The "Worry Wart" is back and I do not need this so let's help each other.
To the best of my knowledge, Klonopin (Clonazepam) may be taken everyday at regular times or on an as needed
basis. Typically, your healthcare provider will limit the number of doses you
should take in one day.
When starting clonazepam, anxiety or insomnia may improve rapidly or over a
period of days or within hours of the first dose of medication. For this reason I, personally, do not feel this is the best choice for quick response when you are in anxiety/panic mode.
Keeping in mind that I am not a Dr. and my opinion is just that - My Opinion, I am going to post a link you may find helpful:

Accepting that I needed to use medications as well as therapy for my Anxiety/Depression was a hard pill to swallow ( pun intended )
Many people fight taking medications but I suspect once you use your Klonopin and find relieve from overwhelming anxiety you will find the anxiety less overpowering.
Are you still doing your writings? I would love to read some of your latest as well as your poems from the past.
Remember you have a friend in MN where the winds blow cold on a long winter night.
My email is always open - I would love to hear from you.
Gentle Hugs,
Kitt
