Gastric emptying test results - anyone have slow emptying stomach?

i got my results back from my gastric emptying test i was afraid to take.

he said my stomach is very slow emptying. i don't want to take medication for it because it has some bad side affects. ugh

so i told him about my IBS i have had forever and lately has woken me up at night with bad cramps. he said that's not normal and said he wishes he would have known that when i had my endoscopy so he would have done a colonoscopy too. geez. all of this because i just wanted to see if i actually had gerd. ha

now he thinks my cramping and slow emptying might have to do with my colon anatomy or hopefully not polyps or anything obstructive causing my backing up. i'm not sure this is even necessary but i won't have insurance soon because of my lay off so i guess i should have done.

anyone else had these stomach issues before?? i just want to be healthy and stop having issues of diff. kinds. geeeez! i hate these diagnostic tests and having to be sedated. good thing is i'm getting used to it and i won't be afraid it of now. unless they stick a tube down my throat. ha my bp shot up really high right before being knocked out for my endoscopy cause i knew what they were about to do and i thought i would choke. haha

Similar to Larry, I would have countless panic attacks, most often initiated by stomach problems, all through grade school and middle school. Come to think of it, even in High School, though a bit less.

So I do understand feeling scared and frustrated.

You have a good idea in terms of doing this now while you have the insurance coverage. Just like you made it through the endo just fine, you'll make it through the colonoscopy just as fine!
