I guess I should start from the very beginning. It all started one night, when I was putting my son to bed. It was about
11pm and I had just laid down. I felt like an elephant was sitting on my chest! Then the pain began. I started to hyperventilate, then had my husband rush me to the ER. The doctor gave me an xray and an MRI. He said everything came back normal and that it was just a case of Costocondritis ( inflammation of the ribs) and that it would be hard to breathe. He explained that it feels like you're having a heart attack, and to not panic when feel it coming on. Easier said then done.
Then, two days later the pain was so bad I went to the ER once again. They said my oxygen levels were at 100% and that I was fine. Several hours later I began to experience numbness, first in my hands then in my feet. But then it got just plain freaky. My head, ears and neck are complete numb. Now, I've experienced numbness in many places before but in my head? It scared me! So I went to the ER again. They said I had paresthesia, but they could not find out why. My EKG, MRI, CAT scans were all clear.
All I know is that a week ago, I was a perfectly healthy mother of two, and now I can hardly breathe, and my entire head is numb. I'm waiting to hear from a neurologist, but I refuse to believe I'm a complete wackjob who's life fell apart in less then 24 hours for no reason. If anybody can help me, or know what this feels like, please help me ):
