Was on Prozac for 3 days and got off now I had a panic attack

hi del, i have no experience with prozac, aan i am just wondering whether the sore throat and other symptoms are listed as side effects? or could you have been getting a virus, just coincidentally?would it be worth persevering with the prozac to find out if it helps, and then you could maybe use the xanax in case of a bad attack? i always get anxious when trying new meds and subconsciously worrying how they will affect me, and it wouldn t help, being on for 3 days and then stopping.just a thought, i really pray you won t have any more bad episodes, blessings

I had a severe panic attack after about a week on Celexa several years ago--I took it before bed and woke up around 3am with racing heart, trouble breathing, racing thoughts, etc. I spent an hour walking in my bedroom and trying breathing techniques to calm down. When that didn't work I finally went to the ER and they gave me an Ativan, which calmed me down relatively quickly (I wasn't taking anything else at that time). I called my doctor that day and he told me to halve the dose of Celexa that night, but within an hour of taking it, my heart started racing and chest started hurting again, so I stopped the med completely (and stopped any SSRIs until this year, as that was my second negative experience with one).
