Drinking with anxiety

Ever since having my panic attacks for tha last few months, I've been out drinking with no problems but now since they are becoming more frequent I've been scared to go out with friends celebrating. I do want to start back going out doing normal things, I think that could help . Does any one have any experience with drinking then taking anxiety meds if an attack does occur? I'm taking lorazepam as needed. Or any advice with drinking alcohol and anxiety period. Thanks

drinking alcohol with any benzo can cause you to hve black outs, and magnify the effects of alcohol, in that you can lose all inhibitions and do things which you very much regret later and have no way of taking back. there is no way to know a "safe"amount, and also, if you were to get behind the wheel, you could kill someone. sorry hon, i know its tempting. just yesterday i had 2 small sips of a liquer, and i m on regular diazepam, i stopped myself and gave the drink away. my husband kept saying to me, are you sure, are you sure, are you sure you want to be doing this, and i already knew it was stupid. listen to the voice in your head. as far as other anxietty meds go, ask your pharmacist and read everything you can about the possible contra indications. blessings to you and yours
