has anyone switched from effexor to an ssri?? need some advise!!

hey everyone it's been quite a while since I've been here but I had a couple questions for anyone who might be able to answer.I've currently been on effexor since October and although it's helping somewhat, its not foolproof! I still have alot of breakthrough anxiety and I am literally exhausted! I am definitely better than I was, but I know I can improve. My doctor has given me the option of going on cipralex (LEXAPRO) and I would like to do the taper. I was on 187.5 and now I have been on 150 for the past 2 weeks. I dont feel worse btw. I just wanted some feedback from anyone who had been on effexor and switched back to an ssri? Im a bit terrified of having withdrawls that people speak of so I was also wondering if anyone has experience with a good taper schedule to ease the withdrawals? Doctors always have you taper too quick and from what I have heard about effexor, I dont think that would be a good idea! ! Thanks for taking the time to read this and I appreciate any advise I can get!!

Sorry I don't have personal experience to share, but you should hear from others who do, so keep checking. In general though, switches between SNRI's and SSRI's are usually pretty smooth

I would advise to follow your doctor's advice, and know that this is your best course of action :)
