Is this true??

Was watching a well known bishop on tv as he was preaching a powerful sermon in my oppinion, where he made the statement there is power in our thoughts and basically we can tend to think ourselves into depression& into anxiety and I a person with anxiety kinda agree with that one hand bcause for me one little ache leads into a scary thought& if I keep on thinking on it like sometimes do not intentionally but thats just how it like I sometimes do it end up leading to panic. Iam in phase right now where Iam trying to learn how to rewire my mind, must retrain one self to thing in a better way.

dear soul, there are some really charismatic religious speakers, on tv, and other places, and some things they say seem to just make just so much wonderful sense and we wonder how on earth we hadn t seen things that way before! your bible tells you to test everything you hear against what is written in the Holy Bible, and not to just take things for granted because a religious leader says it. there s no doubt that there is power in our thoughts, else anxiety wouldn t be a worry to anyone, we would ust ignore it. i wish it was as easy as thinking your way out of an anxiety attack. some people, under some circumstances, probably can, but all our brains have different chemical make ups at different times, and positive thinking might be enough sometimes but not others. i m wondering if the bishop you spoke of has ever had bad anxiety or a panic attack? what often works well for me is using the thoughts of Jesus to make my brain and body take a detour around the anxiety that i am feeling, to a place of relative peace. i carry a small notebook with me at all times, in which i have written calming, short, scriptures, which i pull out a read to myself, or out loud if the situation allows, and its getting to the stage where i can remember them without the book. i think that this is hat the bible means when it says to write God s Word on your heart. doing this has been an absolute life saver for me, and i hope i am not being too religious here and that i am allowed to write these things on this forum. just telling what has worked for me, blessings to you and yours

dear larry, thanks for reassurring me! i m just never sure where the lines get blurred, and i know i read something in the guidelines about not "proselytising" i don t know if you can help me, but you seem like you are quite knowledgeable . i am getting nervous about my Christian therapist, because she has started throwing phrases like "generational curses" and 'spiritual warfare" into our sessions. i have always been taught that these things are not Biblical. do you or anyone else with knowledge of the Bible, have an opinion on this? sorry, when she says spiritual warfare, feel she is talking about deliverance ministry., blessings to you and yours
