hi, i'm display.

i'm very nervous about work. there is just so much work on my desk. i couldn't possibly do it all. i'm worried about my attitude, too. that i will just say "forget it" and goof off.

i read something this morning about just observing anxious thoughts and not pushing them away, because they come back even stronger, just observe them and then move on. i am trying to practice that this morning.

worried about fights and confrontations with my bosses.

also the threat that i might have to work overtime. i feel like i already give work enough by working 40 hours a week, i don't want to have to give up my free time.

i also decided to stop going in to work extra early, i am just going to resent it at some time in the future. so i slept a little bit later this morning than usual.

i am remembering sick thoughts from when i was a teenager and feared going to school so much. there was no one to turn to, to talk about my feelings. i just had to stuff them. thankfully i have this board now to share on.

please help me today with your prayers and positive thoughts! thanks.

Yes, you have us, and I hope that getting your feelings out here helps!

It seems that you are aware of what helps you to keep your anxiety managed...so good job on using your skills and doing the things that work for you. Good advocating for yourself!

Keep up the good work, and know that you can do all of the necessary things that are on your desk today.:)

I think you picked up SC and myself to stop in and check  on you daily so feel strong today and stay positive and assertive.

I see many of our members also stop in frequently to let you know they are supporting you - Merrida, littlewing75, janetlee and paniccu just to mention a few and I know there are more.

postscript - the day went fine.

i think my bosses are aware how overloaded i am and did not put any pressure on me. well, one asked about my progress but seemed satisfied with my answer. the pressure really exists in my head. i was so full of worry this morning about things that are really not that important. it's not like i'm a vice president and have some quota to meet. it is a fairly low level job.

i am aware also i need to watch it with how i plan my day. too many deadlines before lunch just does a real number on my head. so i am scheduling some things for the afternoon.

but that thing that i read about letting the anxious thoughts come up, observing them and not judging them, and then moving on, really helped me.
