Hello everyone!

I've had my very first CBT session this afternoon. In fact, I've just got back home now!

I wanted to thank you all for all the help and support and kindness I've received from you lovely people and especially thank you to the select few who advised to myself time and time again to try CBT. I have finally had my first appointment today and it feels so right! The place is walking distance from where I live (yay!) but as I was walking their I felt sure that I was about to collapse and have a heart attack because my chest hurt so much. I was afraid of meeting my therapist, and worried that this was going to be like the very first time I went to CBT, where the therapist was awful to me...

Anywho, it wasn't! The place is lovely and the staff and workers are friendly and the lady who is my therapist (her name is Roxanne! How cool!) is very kind. She even let me give her a hug after today's session, even though this was the very first one. XD I just felt so thankful and happy that I was finally on the road to recovery from this darn debilitating disease. I didn't even get out of breathe when I was walking home, even though I had to walk across the same hill I did when I was walking to therapy. How mad is that?! I felt lighter than air and I just know that this is right. I'm going to get myself better and be a better person!

I'm sorry this is so long-winded. I'm just so grateful for this and I'm very happy to have come to this site and meet so many supportive individuals.

Janghwa,

Your post was tender and lovingly touching. It is wonderful to know you are on your way and look at you, got yourself a hug on the first visit.

Sounds like you and Roxanne are a good match. Just knowing you have one special someone just for you and this person will always hold a special place in your recovery must bring you peace.

I happen to be a huge fan of HW and love the members as it feels like coming here is being with my special family. Helping others always helps me.

Keep on talking with us as you are one of the golden spokes on this wheel of caring that goes round and round helping one another.

What a wonderful and inspiring post to read! That's quite the positive experience. I'm glad that you shored up your fears and gave this a shot. And,...that it turned out to be a terrific thing for you!

Please do keep us posted. We do form bonds that are much like family here, and we grow to care about each individual on a personal level, so always feel welcome here and free to share anything!
