Has anyone here taken Topamax? My doc just prescribed it to me for my headaches. Just curious how it was if anyone has experience taking it?

I do struggle with migraine pre-dome/aura issues...and to some extent the headache itself...though not to the extreme that most do.

I have not sought help in the form of meds however, as this seems to be hormone related for me...and fairly few and far between episodes.

Have you checked in with the migraine forum regarding this? I have not hear too much mention of it in the A/P.

You may want to post there as well for more input.

I hope that you get your answers and relief that you need soon.:)

According to the information I have read, "Topamax is a daily prescription medication that you take for as long as you and your healthcare professional decide you need it."

Migraines can't be completely eliminated, but Topamax can help stop them before they start, so you can get fewer of them. By using this drug you may prevent fires(migraines) versus putting out fire that is already in progress.
