Many times, I believe we take things too personally. We automatically assume that everything that's going on, and going wrong, is pertaining to us, and has something to do with us. It's natural to feel that whatever we see and hear from other people, to assume it's about something we have done.
But the thing is, they feel this way too. I've come....or should I say, I am coming to understand, that most people view the world this way. And that's natural and normal. If a bad communication occurs it's natural to wonder what we did to provoke it.
Thing is, keeping in mind that pretty much everyone feels this way, thinking their lives are the ones the world revolves, also assume everyone's action is actually some form of RE-action to them.
It's not. Sometimes people just are off.....either in general, or they have bad days, or they have bad or painful situations going on. This can make them selfish, snobby, angry.....and by behaving that way, they are sending off those vibes which we pick up and "reflect" back to them, thinking it's us, but we're the mirror, not the object being reflected.
It isn't always about us. Sometimes people, all of us, need to not only be gentle with ourselves but with others and remind ourselves that they have lives too, and maybe something is going on we're not aware of, and sadly we're on the receiving end. But it is not always personal, even if it feels that way.
I know this feeling well because I, too, take everything to heart! :)
