I don't like what I just read!!

First off hi everyone hope all is well. It's been a while since I've been on.

Anyway I'm kind of panicking a little. I went to the er the other night because I woke up that morning and my hear felt clogged well a couple hours later I got dizzy lightheaded and a few minutes of vertigo. Well the er said I had fluid in my ear that it was caused by a virus mind you I have a this problem several times in the last year or so well I went to my family doctor today and he looked in my ear and said I have menieres and wrote me a prescription I asked him if it will go away he said yes. But with my anxiety I google it right away and it said it don't go away eventually it can go to both ears and make me deaf does anyone have any idea if it does go away or if the internet is right? I wish I could just cut my ear off and be done with it. Does anyone else have this?

May I ask what tests your Dr. performed to come up with a dx  of Meniere's disease ? Meniere's disease / is a disorder of the inner ear that can affect hearing and balance to a varying degree.

The usual tests to assess an ear problem included but are not limited to a hearing test (audiometry), a videonystagmography test that evaluates balance function,  a vestibular evoked myogenic potentials test, and a posturography which is a computerized test that reveals This computerized test reveals which part of the balance system — vision; inner ear function; or sensations from the skin, muscles, tendons and joints — you rely on the most and which parts may cause problems.

May I suggest, kortnie, that you make an appointment with a ENT physician for a second opinion.

I called and made an appointment with an ent for Tuesday but what I've read they can't diagnose you if you're not having symptoms at that time so in a way I hope i have symptoms on Tuesday. I just want to get back to living my life
