Hi there,
In the past 3 weeks I have been dealing with some anxiety. I haven't had much anxiety in the past but this past year has been stressful for me. My boyfriend and I are doing long distance and he was just recently here for a little over a month and left about
5 weeks ago and it was AMAZING. He is the perfect person for me and is great with letting me talk about
how I'm feeling or what I'm thinking as he suffers from anxiety himself.
My first anxiety attack occurred after I smoked, which I did regularly, and started to feel weird and freaked out. First time that had ever happened to me. But since then I have quit smoking and I've been experiencing some anxiety attacks and recently started to get some intrusive thoughts. I have had the exact same thing occur to me when I was younger, around 11-12, but I saw a psychiatrist and was put on meds and I remember being completely fine. I went I my doctor yesterday to get some help for my anxiety and intrusive thoughts and he put me on 10mg of Cipralex(Escitalopram) and also gave me 0.5mg of Ativan (Lorazepam) for more "right now" help wit the Anxiety. The Ativan has been working fine but it's my 2nd day on the Cipralex and I feel very weird. I am extremely tired, I have tingles in my arms and feel very "blah" with no energy. Is this normal to feel this way? And also has anyone had luck with getting off this drug? Not saying I want to now because I do intend to stick with it, I'm just wondering for the future.
Thanks for reading:)
