Hi all,
So my latest "thing" which began in the last 3 weeks is a feeling like I have sunburn on my arms. Of course, it comes and goes and comes back - it's never constant, so when I emailed my doc about
it she said to wait it out and let her know if it becomes constant and prolonged... so in the meantime, I'm just worried and uncomfortable.
I don't have a fever, I do have some skin peeling on a few fingers and tiny flesh colored bumps which are going away, occasionally my arms feel itchy and anything warm that touches my skin feels very warm to me
... I took some benadryl just in case it was some sort of allergic reaction. I can't tell if it's helping or not.
Uugghh, I just want to be a normal person!

I have been having that same thing on my face but I am not sure if its related to the fact that things have been going wrong and I have had almost daily anxiety but I have noticed with mine it comes right after I get a severe headache and then my forehead and face go numb and right after my skin gets very hot almost as if I have a fever but I don't I have not asked my doctor about
this yet but I know anxiety can do strange things

It is good that you are running this by your doctor to rule out anything physical in nature...however, this is a known effect of stress, and I have had it happen (for me, it's my face) on many occasions.

Yep, me too.
Burning sensation (like a sunburn and sometimes it can get itchy) on my face, and even throat and chest.
Occasionally even my arms (but not my legs,...how odd is that?!)
You're not alone!!

I think it was Merrida that I talked to about
this once also. My ears would get fire red like sunburned and hot and no fever.. I believe she said she had that too and it made me feel so much better.. It freaked me out for a while because the doctors couldn't tell me why either. Since my anxiety has calmed down a lot guess what? No burning ears.. I think it's common.

Thanks guys. Really!!
I'm still going to the neuro doc to get it checked out, just in case, but it helps a lot to hear I'm not the only one and that just because it is a new and strange symptom it doesn't necessarily mean it's something I need to be so afraid of.

It sucks that new symptoms always makes us feel it's something bad. I try not to focus on them anymore because that seems to make them worse for me. It does help to know we're not alone in this. Good luck at your appointment ..

Two months ago I had a burning sensation like a sunburn on my thigh, four days later I started getting a weird spotty rash. Turns out I had shingles.
