Has anyone used clonidine for anxiety?

I had it prescribed a couple of weeks ago but have only taken it once and I was very drowsy. Just wondering if it's worth trying again.

I believe this to be a hypertension Rx used 'off label' to control anxiety/high heart rate symptoms?

If your starting dose was too high, you could have symptoms of lethargy.

Talk with your doctor about whether you will adjust to this, or if perhaps your dosage needs to be reduced.

Also, be sure and see if you should be taking this daily, or on a PRN (as needed basis)

My son was on clonidine for years, I know for certain it can be a blood pressure medication among other things, he used it to help him go to sleep at night, so I know for certain it does make you very tired. His dose was never increased because of how potent the medication seems to be, he is a very large boy.

I did notice when he took it he would get very lethargic and at times pale, but would fall asleep with in minutes, he was only on .5 milligrams I believe.
