When you plug your nose and blow, do your ears pop and crack?

You better hope it does, if your ears don't pop then there is a
good chance you have a busted ear drum, we used this many
times in the military to equalize the pressure inside the inner ear
cargo aircraft do not have cabin pressure regulators so we would
do as you describe in order to hear better this is nothing to worry about
, you may have notices going up a mountain that your ears might pop, coming down the same thing, Peace

My ears are feeling plugged I'm sure it's from my sinus porblems. Just took a Claritin D, hope that helps because for some reason I get very panicky when my ears feel funny.

I plug my ears, close my mouth and blow several times a day. I have seasonal allergies and it seems to be the only way to help relieve the pressure in my head sometimes since I dont take any allergy meds. Ive been doing it for so many years that it is no longer uncomfortable to do. The only time it was ever an issue was when I had an infection but didn't know it. I blew and instead of it relieving the pressure it felt like I added pressure and it hurt a lot. I ended up losing my hearing in my right ear for about
3 weeks! I guess I didn't learn my lesson though since I still do it daily.

Omgosh, I will never take claritin d again. Last night for about
half the night my whole body felt like when you have restless legs, it was horrible.

I was taught about
that in the past as well. The mountain is a good example, so is flying. Aagh, the pain.
If you're taking a decongestant, it might be better to take in the morning since many have a stimulating effect.
