Ok..i dont post much but i read every day!! In fact,ive done extremely well since i last posted.
So i had my yearly female work up..doctors nurse calls and says" your pap smear came back abnormal..he says he will see you on the 3rd"!!!
Now, abnormal can mean alot of things and my rational brain knows this, but my anxiety brain is back in full force!! Come on doc, you dont do that to a person who has anxiety!!
So here i sit...lol..dont know if i should run, scream, cry or just continue on as i have been?
I assume if it was terrible he would say get in here right now...right?? Not make me wait 2 weeks...ugh!!
I hate anxiety!!

I totally understand, the anxiety goes way up and all you can think about is the negative things.

Probably, as women, we have all had an abnormal pap smear, and it is scary but thankfully they can be wrong.

I think I would have asked if they have an early cancellation could they call you, so you could ease your mind.

I've had abnormal paps before. It happens.

Your next appointment is just around the corner. While you wait, deep breaths, deep breaths!

Thanks for the reply! And you are right, i should have asked to get an earlier appointment but after i thanked her for making me want to vomit i dont think she wanted to talk to me anymore!!
Gotta laugh..thats the way i survive!!

Megan, my wife had abnormal biopsy's for years, if it becomes
bad they will have you back in 24 hours, your ok, just listen to
the other Ladies here on HW. Peace.

I had one show abnormal just from some inflammation on my cervix.. It turned to be all okay.. So it could be something simple try to think positive.. But it's hard for us to do that.. I myself had my mammo this year and was freaking out waiting for the results.. Wishing you some peace until your appointment..

Yes, if it was something really bad they'd very likely get you in earlier.

Try to think of it this way -- you're no different today than you were yesterday before they called. And there's nothing at all you can do about it so worrying will only make you stressed out and anxious.

But two weeks is a long time to wait and wonder. Do you think they'd set you up with a quick phone visit with the doc? Or can you communicate with your provider via email?

I completely understand. Call them back and ask for the doctor to call you and explain. No need to wait that long for an answer. Don't take no for an answer. Be persistent. And yes, I have had abnormal pap smears. Not a big deal. If it was really serious, you wouldn't have to wait to see the doctor.

Thank you guys!! Im waiting for a call..we will see what he has to say.
He knows how i am as ive caused quite a humorous commotion in the office. They think im quite the character..but this isnt funny to me!
Hes a good doc..i like him alot..hope he continues to make me feel that way!!
In the meantime, i just keep on keepin on!! Cant let it steal my sunshine....:-)

You are handling this tremendously well!! I would be losing my @#$% personally.

...and I say that not because I think that you have reason to worry...but because I am just wired up that way, and I can relate.

Thoughts and prayers that you can keep achieving peace and calm while you await your call back.

If I were you I would call them up and tell them you have really bad anxiety and there is no way you can wait that long. That's what I would do.

Thanks Scaredy Cat!! Look, im not saying it doesnt bother me but hell im not about to go backwards.
Last time i posted i was such a stinkin mess..wouldnt eat,convinced i was dying..the whole nine yards. I have come leaps and bounds since then. I have gained 18 pounds and i refuse to go back to that dark place.
No matter what it is, good or bad or just a glitch in the test, im keepin a smile on my face because who i was befote was a wacked out individual..
It will all be ok!!:-)
