Its always worse in the morning

I wish so much I could wake up in the morning bounce out of bed with vitality and optimism waiting to see what a new day brings....wouldn't that be nice!! Instead I open my eyes and think about getting through another day and just want to close them again. Its day 4 on the upped dose of Effexor, the anxiety/panic has retreated a bit but I feel like its sitting on my shoulder iykwim......I feel so flat and deflated that this is happening, I feel so angry that I have to go through this rubbish again....why??? Im so angry I have to rely on drugs and every time Im given something I don't know if its going to help or make things worse....I guess what Im saying is I feel vulnerable and that feels really uncomfortable... sorry for the negative but my mind is grappling with what is going on and Im just trying to get some feelings out.

I know how you feel..... I look at other people and am envious of the way they go about their day with energy and happiness like nothing is wrong and I wonder why can't that be me? Other people my age seem to be content. I'm 34. My mornings are also hard ... I have been on celexa for just over a week. I am hoping and praying it works!!!

Mornings are generally tougher all the way around for people who are highly sensitive with anxiety.

I happen to be married to a man who can just pop right out of bed, just jump right up, wide awake and all perky, very with it, sharp, ready to go....

................it's really rather annoying at times. ;)

Merrida - that would be hard...I think I would be jealous of him :) I mean even when I'm well this little black duck is not in any way shape or form morning material....I am definitely a night owl. Cornell I know right.....what I have learnt though is as we look at everyone bouncing around having a seemingly wonderful life, that's usually just what it looks like but the truth is sure some people are but dig a little deeper with many and there are all sorts of issues people are struggling with. Cornell only a week into taking celexa hang in there buddy as that's early days...Ill cross my fingers and toes for you that things will start turning around for you.

Anxiety is an illness that weighs on us everyday, and everyday I wish I could wake up normal too. I understand your frustration and feeling vulnerable. I'm kind of in the same place right now. My anxiety is getting worse and I just keep asking why? But then I tell myself, there's got to be a reason. I believe it's a test and we just have to pass it. I wish we could cheat or give up but we can't. It helps to just get those feelings out especially in a place like this where there are so many people who are going through similar situations. This place makes me feel normal and safe and I hope it helps you too. Stay strong!

Mornings are the worst for me too. I used to get up every morning at 5 and head into work. Now I wake up at 4 and gradually the nervousness sets in. I am still on my first week of paxil and Lamictal together. Everyone says be patient. i want to get back to work so badly. I work at a school so I go in later and volunteer my time. I hope that just being there will help my body adjust back to normal. i read about facing your anxiety. once I am there, I feel much better. I just cannot get myself up and out the door early in the morning yet. I am excited about my fall projects. I want to be able to do them at school. It is so hard to describe but I do not feel like me yet.
