Hi SMU,
Did the doctor who performed your surgery give you an estimated recovery time? Do you stiil have your discharge paperwork?
You should have been given some information as to what to expect, as well as what is not part of the normal recovery process...and when to call in.
If you are not sure how you should be feeling at this point, I would go ahead and go in to be seen.
I am sure that as you said...you are likely fatigued from going back to school, but it doesn't hurt to get checked out, to be on the safe side.:)
As far as exercise goes...
...there is sick, and there is recovering from a procedure.
You will need to again, ask your doctor if you are ready to resume exercising.
In general however...I believe that exercising moderately when you have a cold/virus is fine if you feel up to it. It can even be beneficial to the immune system.
However, exercising while you have a fever, flu, infection...ect, is not ususally recommended. Rest in order to recover is necessary, and exertion could prove too taxing, and inhibit healing in these cases.
I hope that you get the answers that you need, and are feeling better soon!
