I have health anxiety also, but....

I'm in the same boat with you! But it's the NOT knowing that's worse then knowing. So I make my doc appts and whatever tests and just power through. A lot of times with a little help from my friends such as all the awesome people on this site and my wonderful supportive family at home. Just do it! In the end you'll feel better that you did!

I have health anxiety too and a horrible fear of going to the doctors or being in a hospital. i avoid docs like the plague and am afraid when I have to go to one, Ill need to be comatose to get into the office! It's a horrible fear, stemming from an incident when I was seven and has never left me. I just don't know how to conquer it even tho I know how foolish it is.

Okay, so for perspective.

You're not afraid of doctors. You're not afraid of medical tests. You're not afraid of needles. You're not afraid of what they do while they're there. You're not afraid of having things done. You're not afraid of the waiting room. You're not afraid of the exams. You're not afraid of the act of going to the doctors.

...........Did I get all that right?

So from what I gather, what all of this boils down to is that you have anticipatory anxiety for the few days that you have to wait until you get a call or letter giving you the test results. Did I get that right?

Oh my gosh...there is nothing worse than waiting for test results! I hate it! It usually is a relief to me though once I finally get them. It's the waiting though. Horrible!
