Ms Jessy
Hopefully you know by now that you are not alone in your struggle. I have spent countless nights lying in bed thinking that this would be the night that I die. It was miserable and there was no end or hope in sight.
Without writing an extremely long post, allow me to tell you what the key thing is in getting you on the right track to healing. Are you ready for it?!?! Here it is...
You have to truly believe that without question, that your symtpoms (chest pain) is a direct link to your anxiety and is NOT a medical condition.
Once I finally came to terms with this I no longer feared I was dying (you cannot die from anxiety). It's not easy to get to this place but you said that all the tests came back normal. Once you accept your disorder and jump on the anxiety train it will not make your symptoms go away but it will take away the fear of dying as this alone is miserable within itself! Once you have fully committed yourself to this you can start your journey to healing.
Developing coping skills/ techniques is vital to your treatment with this disorder. Have you checked out our resource page for different techniques? Apply them throughout the day. Other things that you need to incorporate is healthy distractions, proper diet, exercise, therapy, and medication.
Get yourself educated with this disorder (Generalized Anxiety Disorder). Knowledge is power and fear can originate from "the unknown". Things won't change overnight. This is a journey. It's going to be a lot of hard work. There will be ups and downs but YOU CAN DO THIS!! Think in terms of "baby steps" and "little victories". One day you will wake up and realize how far you have come!
Keep us posted on your progress!
God bless
Cornell
