So sorry to hear you are going through this. Before I started my company, I was always butting heads with my co-workers (part of the reason why I started my biz). I felt like I was doing the brunt of the work while they "gaffed" off. I definetely feel your pain.
First thing, I would like to say is that your devotion to perform well for your company is very admirable! As a boss, I wish all my employees had that type of devotion towards their employer. You realize that this is a business and you actually have to work hard to generate revenue which in turn supplies you (and your co-workers) a job. It's simple logic that a lot of people don't fully understand.
I would encourage you to keep working hard. Even though its killing you inside, put a smile on your face and continue to have a great attitude. It also wouldn't hurt if you would have a chit-chat with your co-workers on a one on one basis concerning this. Don't do it in front of others and don't make them feel that you are calling them lazy or seem that they don't care about
their job or the company. Reiterate how important it is for you to work as team.. Smile, laugh, and have a good time with them! It's okay to have a little fun as long as you're working hard and producing. In fact, the teams that do this usually are "high performers".
It sounds to me that now is the time for you to step up, take control, and be a leader! Lead by example and show the others how hard you are working, involve them in special projects, set the atmosphere to fun - fast paced - and productive. You can do this!
There's no doubt, that your boss has noticed your hard work. As a boss myself, I know who my producers and "slack offs" are. And if an opportunity for promotion
opens up, there will be no doubt who will be chosen - YOU!
I am so impressed with your committment... Hang in there! There will be a sweet reward for you!
Hope this helps a little!
God bless
Cornell
