Thanks for sharing with us. I am sorry that the anxiety is back.
From reading your post, I think it's clear of what is happening here. The trauma that happened to your friend was a trigger to your anxiety. It set it off and thus the increased heart palps.
What a special person you are to care so deeply for a friend. She is very lucky to have you. I, too, am sorry for the trauma she experienced. :(
Keep yourself armed and on guard at all times with this disorder. It can sneak up on us at any (as in this case). You are doing the right thing by increasing your therapy visits. Brush up on your coping skills (1st page, 1st post if you need any ideas). Are you currently taking medication. If not talk to your doctor about
it and maybe even increasing them to help get you through this "rough patch".
Learn your triggers and stay away! Some triggers we cannot avoid but some are in fact avoidable - hence, the alcohol! Big no, no! That's a huge trigger. Another trigger - googling our symptoms. Try to refrain!
