I'm sorry about your disappointment!

Are you seeing a therapist? I know we've talked but I cant remember. A therapist can help you get to the root of this & help you with your thought patterns that make you arrive @ disappointment.

I am sorry to hear this. I often feel the same way...dissapointment is a really hard emotion for me to deal with.

I hope that is works out to see your friend...stay hopeful...

I read your post and have been pondering it for just a bit....

I am a "dude" as well and if I were in your shoes and was expecting a visit from a "lady friend" and she had to cancel for whatever reason, then I would be bummed too!

For heavens sake, not convinced you need therapy for this!!! I think this is normal - if not then go ahead and call me a "looney bin" now because I have been in your shoes!

Take a cold shower and reschedule with her! Don't seem too desperate or put too much pressure on her - don't want to scare her off.

I understand about not having much to look forward to... I am no stranger to "the rut" myself!

John, you're saying that you don't have much to look forward to, so I am wondering what you have a flare for in life? Certainly there must be something that starts a fire in your heart, or brings you joy? If you can't think of anything, than is it possible to think back to your childhood to remember what you loved to do?

I was discussing the same thing tonight with a few friends who honestly didn't know what they loved to do. Some people really don't and so it is a path of self-discovery. And then of course the courage to live it!

It seems like I've always wasted time. I enjoyed video games and toys when I was little, now I'm on social media a lot. It should probably be antisocial media.

A few years ago, I went to a lot of concerts. It got expensive.

I don't have a flare for much. My slow surgical recoveries have made me handicapped in my mind. I'd be happy cleaning the house with no pain at this point.

Physical setbacks can be really depressing. You have had a few rough hurdles to get over latley...but things will get brighter.

Once you are on the mend, you can get back to doing the things you enjoy...little by little as you feel better.

As you start to get out of your slump...a renewed interest in other things will pick up...and your forward momentum will suprise you, no doubt.

Hang in there and stay positive...change for the better is coming.:)

TMA - yep, it's a commercial multi dwelling... We have rental houses too and it's definitely not my favorite thing - I have two different tenants that owes me $5000 dollars! I don't have the heart (yet) to evict them.... They have little kids... It's a hard predicament for me!

We are blessed with a nice income from the business so I don't need that money at this point - but on the other hand I am not running a charity and I can't stand for people to take advantage! I have 15 other tenants that pay like clock work - they've been with me for years! A few bad apples aren't bad I guess!

1039 - take your interests and turn them into a dollar - maybe a career??

TMA - not to get too personal but what do you do for a living? I can tell that you're a very educated, professional woman!

You sound like my wife... She does the Payroll/ accounting portion of our biz (along with so much more)! She also take care of our rental property... I used to go collect the rent and would come back with about 1/3 of what I was supposed to have because they knew I had a softer heart.. Now my wife goes an collects and she doesn't pull no punches with them - they know she means business!

It's funny because my employees never call my wife when they want an advance, they call me... So if we're driving down the road and my phone rings and its one of my guys she will make a point to grab the phone and answer it... The employees are scared to death of her... She can be very intimidating! I am thankful for her because she keeps me grounded, I would probably be broke without her!

We also have a Mobile Home Park in Point Pleasant, WV and those people are a trip!

Do you take an active role in your husbands biz? Are you grooming your little ones to take over one day? Just curious... I am sure you are huge asset to your company - you're very sharp, fair minded and intelligent! Isn't it great not to be tied down to a 9 to 5 job. Think of all the precious time you are able to spend with your little ones?!?!

Not meaning to "overtake" this forum - would loveto hear thoughts 1039zmooth!

I felt like I was "back" in June and then I lifted too much. Sadly, I underestimated the weight of something. At this point, I'm nowhere near that level.

I fear I'm going to bring harm to my Nissen wrap. I'm taking it extremely easy until Christmas. However, I may be nothing by then. I've lost around sixty pounds since the Nissen surgery in August 2013.

I have doubts that I will get better at all.

In response to today's post:
I'm fair today. I've had some burning discomfort in the left side of my chest that has me a little concerned. Based on all I have had done, heartburn shouldn't be possible. It feels like heartburn, but it might be too far left for that. Heartburn is more in the middle. While I'm nervous about it, I'm going to be scoped in December. The dry blood on my mouth the morning of 11/2 prompted that. I had a headache when I woke up. It's difficult to tell if it's from grinding my teeth or my apnea.

I wanted to make it through the day without using Xanax, but I couldn't.

Backs can be weird. Mine isn't the best. I tried therapy on it, but meh. What do you think is going on? Do heating pads help? Are you taking anything for it?

I basically wasted another day. I know all I need to do, but I lack the motivation to do it.
