Hi cat93 and welcome!
I am sorry to hear of this.:( It is scary and confusing to go through this, I know!
Is this your first time dealing with these symptoms/anxiety?
If so, I recommend making an appointment with your doctor a.s.a.p., as you need to look at the situation as a whole, and rule out any physical cause for your symptoms.
If you have been checked out recently, and know that you are indeed dealing with anxiety and symptoms thereof...
...what are you currently doing if anything for relief?
If you give us a little more of your story/background, we can better advise you.:)
Talk to you soon,

C93.,
How about
pursuing therapy...is this an option? I found much benefit from this myself!
Here also is our Resource link. Please take some time to look through for great self-help ideas. Doing the stress relief exercises daily for example will lower your anxiety and symptoms.

Hi cat1993,
How long have you been taking Sertaline? Your doctor should have mentioned it take anywhere from 4-6 weeks to start being effective. It can also initially increase anxiety, I experienced increased anxiety the first week. I have been on it for 3-4 weeks now and doing better, still don't feel quite like my old self but going in the right direction. Did your doctor prescribe a benzodiazepine like Xanax to help?

Cat, please understand that your symptoms are very common to
most of us, I find that Mindfulness and Prayer do help. Peace

Hi
Good to meet you and welcome to the forum. If you have been on the sertraline for a few months and you are finding it is not working I would suggest you go back to your GP and tell them as you might need your medication increased or changed.
I would also suggest you speak with your GP about being referred to talking therapy such as CBT which gets great results in most people suffering with an anxiety disorder.
Keep posting here and let us know how you are doing we are here to help.
