Hello, I am new to this community, I am hoping to get some sort of help/answers.
I am 20 years old, female and for the past 5 months, nearly 6, I have started to experience dizziness every single day. I went to my Doctor after a week of having it onset, and she told me that it was just anxiety. Now look, I have had anxiety for couple of years now, and has worsen since my dog passed away unexpectedly last year, but surely dizziness wouldn't pop up from nowhere to that?
She did give me a blood test though, and that came back clear, that tested for nearly everything. The only thing she did was check my blood pressure and said that it was low sitting down and when I stood up it dropped again.
After two months, I was getting very tired of it, still onset including, fatigue, muscle weakness, very sensitive to light and noise and very lazy. I went back to my Doctor and told her I wanted to see somebody about
it, she told me she would refer me to an ENT to rule out inner ear problems. Well...I had all sorts of tests done (hearing tests, check all around the ear, and caloric test) all seemed normal. The ENT wanted me to have an MRI scan done on my brain, so I went a couple of days later and had it done. A few hours later, I received a phone call from the radiology department saying that they may have found a cyst on my perpetuity gland, naturally I was frightened out of my wits. They asked me to come in again, but they would have to inject the dye. Five days later, I went in and didn't end up having the dye and that my second MRI came back clear...phew!!
My ENT told me that he thinks it is possibly migraines and gave me some medication. I started taking them a month ago and they work to an extent, but not fully. I don't feel 100% dizzy, but more off balance and lightheaded. I had to leave the ENT for a while, because it was costing so much money, which a 20 year old doesn't have!
It has been a month since I had been there, and I am starting to feel rotten again like old times. I am not entirely sure how to describe it, but I have a lot of what I would call sharp nerve pain in my head most of the time (Had this for a couple of years). My hands tremble at times through out the day and I get sudden drops in what I would call again low blood pressure (which has happened only a few times) and I had to rush to find a seat because my body feels heavy.
I went back to my Doctors three days ago, but went to my very old Doctor who is male and explained to him what has happened from the start. He told me that he doesn't believe it could be migraines, as you wouldn't be experiencing dizziness every single day from it. He then said I could have too much adrenaline producing as I feel adrenaline rushes every day too. He asked me to do a 24 hour urine sample which tests for adrenaline (cortisol levels) and if it came back with nothing, he would refer me to a Neurologist. In my blood test which I had with my female Doctor, although she said it came back normal, my cotisol level was 800, which is very high for the morning. I am hoping it is something to do with adrenaline, as it's better than not knowing what the problem is.
I must also mention that I suffer from PCOS and haven't had my period for nearly 4 months.
Whether it is something deeper than anxiety I do not know, but it's very hard to communicate with those who have never experienced a feeling like this. This has bothered me so much and for far too long, that I have had to take a lot of time off work, and virtually no longer able to go out on my own to the shops, as I am deeply nervous and feel like I am going to collapse.
I am wondering if anybody out there has experienced anything like this before and any comments or stories would be a great help.
