Diazepam advice please

Hi there

I've been prescribed Diazepam today and have never taken anything like it. Would love to hear peoples thoughts and experiences with taking it? My doctor says it's fine to drive when taking it but the internet tells me different. I also have the tightness in my throat at the moment from anxiety and am constantly scared of taking new things incase I have an allergic reaction. Any advice appreciated thanks

This is one of the longer acting benzos. It will stay in your system longer, due to its half life being greater than Xanax. So you may have more even anti-anxiety coverage since you won't be taking it as often. (b/c it won't be clearing your system as fast.)

I have similar feelings regarding meds...I was always too nervous to take them...and decided to try therapy and self help first. I was fortunate in that this was sufficient for me...

...but if I ever find myself in need of a med...this is definitely one I would consider first.

If you decide to try it, I suggest doing so at home during a period.of no obligations for a day or two...and with a trusted loved one there for reassurance. :) You should be fine!

valium is mild compared to other benzos. each work differently for each person. and for each situation it is prescribed for.
