Have you ever felt severe burning sensation through your body because of medication? I was on the 15 day of clonazepam and escitalopram, 1/4 clonazepam and 10 mg ecsitalopram. The first week of medication I don't feel any side-effects, but in my second week going to 3rd week I felt burning sensation through my body that it makes me feel so dizzy and feeling faint.

Do you think I need to switch medication, or I should stick with it first. My next appointment will be next month.

Hi HP.,

Did you do an increase of the Escitalopram on the second week? This could account for the onset of s/e's.

However it also could just be the building up of the Rx in your system...and this is suppose to happen...although it can be rough, until the intial start up is complete.

Call your doctor to be sure...but the dizzyness is a common side effect (until your body adjusts to being on the medication) and the burning...as long as it is not accompanied by a rash, is also sometimes reported, and likely to fade.

Hi

The unfortunate thing with antidepressants is that they can make you feel worse before you get better during the start up phase but things should start to improve after a couple of weeks and side effects should lesson but I would get things checked by your doctor.
