Daily positive quote

Hi all,
Writing you from work. Long day... Feeling exhausted. I didn't want to come in this morning. I woke up cranky and "mean" as my mom called me. I was anticipating high anxiety and panic and didn't want to deal with it today. And then I read this: "be too determined to be defeated."
With that mentality, I turned my whole day around.

i have shared this a few times, as it is mine, and was devised in a crisis counselling session when the counsellor was ring psych services; i got the white bord marker, it was red, and in brackets, with tears rolling down my face i wrote

'yesterday is a butterfly without wings'. by me (jamie)

That quote was spoken to me while doing a rope course in the redwoods. I had no trouble with walking the ropes, but the zip line was giving me some pause. I was under the impression we could climb down, using our carabeeners, like we had been doing the whole exercise. The free fall and long zip seemed really out of control to me...something I don't like!

The instructor quoted this to me, and it was enough to get me moving...I'll never forget it!

It is really validating to me. It think sometimes we are ashamed of being afraid. For me this is an encouragement to embrace my fears, and ultimately push through them if I can! :)

the quote is not actually a sad one, mine, it just means yesterday can no longer fly, it is gone and is finished. we have today, the wings refer to tomorrow, to opportunity, to fresh new awakenings and joy.
