Celxa and Xanax XR questions

Hey all :)

So I've been taking Celexa 10 mg and Xamax XR for about 10 weeks now I think? I've been having breakthrough anxiety for the last week-ish. Does that mean this whole time the xanax has been keeping my anxiety under control? My goal is to have the SSRI do the job and ween off the benzo and I do not want that to be a part of my treatment long term!

Anyone have experiences? 10 mg is a super low dose but I can't tell what's making the biggest impact. I built a tolerance to xanax weeks ago, it hasn't given me side effects since the beginning of November. So has my tolerance gone up even more?

Idk just curious. can't see my doctor for awhile and its been on my mind.

My guess is exactly that, the xanax has been keeping your anxiety under control. but you just won't know until you taper off the xanax or lower your dose. like you said, 10 mgs of Celexa is on the low end, but many people have success on lower doses.

I would call your doctor and let them know about the breakthrough anxiety. Good luck!

Yes I agree your xanax has probably been keeping your anxiety under control ssri's can take upto 8 weeks before you will notice the full benefits so I would say stick with it for a while longer and if you don't see any improvements go back and speak with your doctor.
