Not feeling well, Day 54 on 20mg Lexapro

I need some positive affirmation today. After a stretch of 2 1/2 weeks of good/great days just a week ago, I have not not been feeling well again, anxiety is at levels of 3-4, for 4-5 days now. I am not sure what is causing it what took me out of that stretch except that I came back to work again.
My doctor was about to move me up to 30mg of Lexapro, which is a high dose, when suddenly I started to feel better, so he asked me to maintain on the 20mg.
Anyone on 30mg?

Need some positive affirmation. I have been dealing with this for 7 months and it is getting old and I am not sure how much longer before things get well again.

You say that you were maintaining pretty well on the 20, and then went back to work? How long had you been away?

Starting back after a break can increase your overall stress levels...even if going back to work is a postive thing...it is none the less, being in a stimulating environment, responsibility increasing, expectations put on you, ect...

I would give it a week and up your coping skills and see how things go before making any changes.

If after this, you still feel the increase is in order, then you and you doctor can make this decision.

Thank you for your response. I took off just for the holidays, 5 days for xmas and 5 days for new year. In fact, I thought the holidays would be a trigger for me as I live alone, but I started feeling well right before the Holidays, I was ok, socialized almost everyday and did pretty good. My doctor was pretty impressed that I was doing so well for such a long stretch.
Before last Tuesday when the anxiety increased again, I was motivated, living my life agin. I still had some anxiety, but it was more manageable.
I have contacted my doctor and I am not sure if more medication is the answer to this. This is a new experience for me in the past 7 months and has been a very rough one. I meditate, go for walks, do two different types of therapy and I feel like I am getting better but it is a very slow progress. Klonopin is one thing that calms me down.

Anyone here on 30mg of Lexapro please? My doctor is asking me to go up to 30mg and I am afraid it is a high dose and might make it feel terrible.

Lex,

I am not on lexapro (yet was prescribed it) but I can relate to having an anxious bout for a long period of time. My bout started mid April and it has been just a huge pain. I was so bad off this summer. I had agoraphobia on top of the anxiety. Ugh.

Patience is a virtue in this situation. That is the only way to get through this. You're doing all the right things!! It just needs to run its course. And as a control freak, that sucks. But you will be okay:)

Hey Lex,

Sorry you're still feeing bad. I got really anxious at work today and called my psych. Which was the worst thing I could of done. He had me come in and knocked me back down to 10 mg, reasoning that we went up to 20 2 fast. 10 mg wasn't cutting it and now I have to wait another month.

Jennings, I am sorry he cut you back down to 10. I would think he would want to go to 15 and then try 20 again. I think Leno is taking that approach. Do you trust your doctor? I think it might be time to get a second or third opinion. You owe it to yourself to get at least a second opinion.

I agree Jennings. I thought you were on 10 for like 8 weeks then went up to 20? Im on 15mg for 10days now moving up from 10mg that I was on for 6 weeks .

I am 20 for 8 weeks now, still having bad days among good. I see people say on some websites that their anxiety was gone after just a few weeks on Lexapro. Hard to believe it.

I think I'm experiencing doseage increase anxiety . My levels went up some since the increase. I was feeling good on 10 but I explauned to my doc that I was having streaks of good then streaks of bad so he bumped me to 20 but I decided to hit 15 first. And here I am 10 days later with increased anxiety . Hope it fades .
