Panic disorder (symdrome) is the on-going occurance of attacks that are self-perpetuating as a result of the fear of having another attack...
after the initial experience of panic.
It is actually pretty common for much of the population to have an isolated panic attack (or two) in their lifetime.
However, a smaller percentage of people go on to have regular panic episodes, which then is considered to be panic disorder/syndrome.
Through therapy (CBT) a large and comprehensive collection of self-help material/techniques...and the support I have found here...I have gained great anxiety management, and overcome panic attacks.
