So this is more of an anecdotal thing, but I wanted to share.
If you have been to a doctor of almost any kind regarding anxiety, panic, or depression, one of the first things you hear is "eat well and exercise". Sound advice... except that whole raising the heart rate leading to a huge bought of anxiety/panic. For me anyways.
Well, the past 4 - 6 months have been nothing short of a blessing in this regard, for myself. Yoga. It gives me exercise, it helps calm the mind (as many practices incorporate breathing focus), and, depending on the class/style of yoga, does not raise the heart rate to a panic inducing state.
I know this will not be for everyone. Believe me I do. But there is no harm in trying. I avoided it for a long time because I am not really into the more... "spiritual?"... side of those sorts of practices. My friend got me to attend, however, and once I got over my own ego, I was amazing at just how much better I felt. In particular, how much my anxiety was reduced after a good positive session.
Please note I am not preaching this as a cure all. But, I am saying there is truth to the exercise point, and I think for people who are hyper alert about their bodies, this is something worth considering.
Anyhow, I just wanted to float that out there.
Peace, love, and calmness to you all.
