I don't know how to explain this...it's a weird symptom.

I see my new doc and he's not rude or anything. I'm actually quite relaxed at the doctor's office but when I leave the office, I get massive butterflies in my stomach along with a horrible stomach ache. It happens everytime I have an appointment with this new doc I found. The stomach ache (which is more like a spasm) last days...and I am still suffering from the pain. It seems to come from tension? I don't know. I am far from anxious when I see my new doc but afterwards I feel really tense. What is happening? The butterflies in stomach thing is crazy too! I know we can get butterflies from nervousness. Could this be it? Maybe he makes me nervous but I don't realize it until I come home? What is going on? confused

I would say it is your body calming down and so since things have been so tense it causes pain in the body. Maybe that's what is going on.

Do you have IBS? Stress can be a trigger...and the pain predominant IBS sounds similar to what you are experiencing...

Is this what happens to people with IBS? I was never diagnosed with IBS. I do occasionally have stomach problems under severe stress. The stomach/back spasm I experienced first when under stress at home dealing with abuse. After then I had similar symptoms when under stress or strong anxiety.

But usually, these symptoms appear when I 'feel' stress. When I am at the doctor's office,
I feel safe and relaxed so I have no idea how these symptoms surface afterwards. There is no
connection. The butterlies are really weird, too. I rarely have this. Must be a new symptom for me.
