I'm posting this to see if anyone can relate. I love these shows, I think they help me to escape my boring life. After all I'm a rural housewife who is a known crazy cat lady who never had a pedicure in a salon. My sweat pants are from Walmart and my handbags from the second hand store. Anyway, does anyone else feel jealous of these women, not for their riches but for their ability to go on vacations or even the local coffee house without having anxiety and panic attacks?  

They seem to be able to get up in the morning, wear makeup, dress nice, see friends, shop, go on vacations all without anxiety.

I'm jealous of that, not the handbags, clothes, or shoes. Just the ability to function normally. Anyone relate?

Housewives is my guilty pleasure Deb!! And I'm pretty much envious of anybody who doesn't have to put up with this anxiety crap😁

Love real housewives too! And yeah when watching I think about that sometimes. Reminds me of life before panic disorder- not the riches or the vacations and jewelry- just the carrying on without worry about panicking, just going out and having fun. Also have gotten into the current season of the bachelor!

Love the Bachelor, Littlewing75 but half those girls are crazy. Thank Goodness Kelsey is gone, she drove me nuts lol.

yuck no- have never given those shows more than a flip with the remote. Shallow, worthless people. Would not trade places with them no way no how.

Nothing wrong with a little escapism...

...but I'd rather hang out with you guys here than any one of them any day!! ;)

The bachelor used to have such nice, normal people on it. What the heck happened?? I mean, I'm still watching it, but still. Haha!!

I am not sure I would call them normal. I am not trying to pull you down, if these shows make you happy then go for it. Bear in mind they are heavily edited to increase the drama. I just wouldn't want to hang with folks who are more concerned about appearances than where their kid is or if their old man signed the right tax forms. too much drama to be comfortable.

My normal is sweat pants from wal-mart, and hopefully my socks match (each other not the shirt). My friends drive pick up trucks and know/love me for who I am not how good I try to look or the latest manolo blaniks on my feet. Oh, and mud bogging is not just having to drive through a puddle in the road. Just saying!

I don't think I could spend an hour getting dressed each morning. Or limit my activities because I just had my nails/hair/etc done. I would rather throw on a pair of jeans and go to the hog roast where I can have a beer or a shot (or maybe three) and hang loose with my friends dancing under the stars by the bonfire.

To each their own. As long as we find joy then we have done it right.

Like I originally said, it's not the material things or the society I envy, it's the ease they have going places, and living life. I used them as an example, heck it could be anyone who can get up in the morning and frickin go to work.
