Was it the right decision?

Hi everyone so i have a mini update on my wean off Clonazepam (also known as Klonapin) so ive reached the dose where am not taking it anymore its been a hard month an a half, everything seemed getting back together till lastnight its been about 4 days that I haven't taken it but my anxiety is starting up again specially at night... now am wondering if it was the right thing to do...
i have some pills just in case my anxiety is to much to bare with. i have work at 6 in the morning and my anxiety is up the roof so i took a bit of Clonazepam 😔 i don't know what to do am trying to stay positive but its kinda consuming me... please help me i dont want to give up now specially with all ive accomplished this far. Any advice?

First of all well done on making the decision to wean of your Klonapin it sounds like you went about this process in the right way and did it slowly.

It does not surprise me that you are experiencing some anxiety as Klonapin is very effective in treating anxiety symptoms. I think that if you have some pills left and your doctor knows your situation there is no harm in taking a pill to help with these new anxiety symptoms so don't beat yourself up about taking one.

What I would say is to make an appointment with your doctor and let them know that you are experiencing your anxiety again as there are other things that can be done to help that don't involve you taking a benzo. The options may be to start an antidepressant which can also help with anxiety or refer you to a therapist to do some talking therapy which will teach you coping techniques.

Great job on pro-actively doing the things necessary to manage you anxiety in the best way your doctor sees for you.

I am glad to hear that you are working closely with him/her for other methods of treatment...and am especially pleased to hear that you will be starting therapy soon. I believe this will be of much benefit to you, and be a great accompanyment to your Rx.
