Flashing aura in vision field

Many of us have had the flashing in our vision field, i just read a very good explanation of this on a Excedrin

These are described as pre-migraine and the pain follows about 20 minutes after the onset of the aura.
I hope it helps because i had never heard of this when mine started and i thought "brain tumor", it has nothing
to do with anything except some degree of migraine, Peace

Good info Larry, thanks for posting.

I used to get migraines about 5 or 6 times a month and headaches daily, I know all too well the aura that comes with migraines. Thankfully since being put on verapamil for my high blood pressure I haven't had a migraine in over 2 years. They now are prescribing verapamil for migraines. I'm so thankful for finding something that works, that I could do the happy dance. :)

Before I get a migraine I will see floaters off to the right of my field of vision. It's crazy because the floater looks exactly the cut I got in my eye when another child in first grade poked me by accident. I had to wear a patch for 3 weeks.

Yup I get them! Before a migraine I get what looks like a stream of moving water to the side of my vision..then it gets bigger & bigger until it consumes my whole vision and then slowly moves to the side and goes away. Thanks for the info!!

Look up ocular migraine. I get them too...they can be a bit scary.

I usually get a couple of year. A couple of years ago I would start off with the zig zag lightening bolts and then i would feel like I am walking through a tunnel with fog. After the light and fog went away I would have a horrible headache. In recent years I usually just get nausea instead of a headache. I started taking lexapro about a month ago and got 2 of these puppies in the 2nd week I started taking it. I have not had them since. Hoping I don't! I sympathize with anyone who gets them!

Count me in…..I also get what theyellowpeeps gets (zig zag lightening bolts) that are silver before the migraine comes. The first time I got one I was in Junior High School in Math Class and I remember I could not read the problems on the board. It scared the **** out of me.

Ever since then I get about 4-5 a year. I know to take Advil as soon as my vision gets this way.

as a teen i and you guys know i hate using this word, but i suffered with them terribly. for weeks, months. something was found in my brain. it was brutal just being in the dark for days on end just vomiting etc. i was given a drug that had very savage effects-but killed the migraine very quickly. all dignity was lost using this drug. it is not used anymore. eye tests are important. had one or 2 lately. i am doing some stretches the doc has showed me. keep well.
