Occasionally i'll wake up ( I think not too long after I've started falling asleep ) Gasping for air and my heart racing it truly feels like i'm having an anxiety/panic attack while i'm sleeping and it wakes me up! Most recent was last night, I DID eat only an hour before falling asleep, bad Idea, I know. and had been feeling really gassy in my upper abdomen, and like it was full, even before eating, and I was getting heart palpitations. I DID have to take my anxiety meds about 10-10:30, as I felt like a panic attack was coming along. I'm not sure why this happens, at the beginning of April, when I first found out I had heart palpitations, and them getting worse, I would slowly drift off to sleep, and then get jerked awake with a sudden gasp of breath ( every single time ) until I was so tired, i'd fall asleep, and stay in a sound sleep. It now only occasionally happens, but when it does, it scares the heck out of me. is there any possible reason this happens? After it happened, I was so afraid, every time I woke up I just felt like my anxiety was so bad and that there had to be something wrong, and felt like I was going to have a panic attack or something despite taking my medicine. I've read online, that some people can experience anxiety and panic while they're sleeping, although im not sure if it leads to waking up gasping for breath, and the heart racing.
