Welcome. Sorry that you are suffering, and at such a young age is heartbreaking.
Are you talking about
over the counter supplements? I've heard good things about
Rescue Remedy as a fast acting agent to calm down from a friend. I use it now and again.
If you're looking for something longer lasting, prescribed anxiety medications are not something to be taken lightly. The most common ones are SSRI's like Prozac (fluoxetine) and Zoloft (sertraline). They take a good 4-6 weeks to start you feeling good. Doctors also recommend you stay on them for a prolonged period of time (usually a minimum of 9 months).
If you have full on panic attacks, sometimes doctors also prescribe tranquilizers like benzodiazepines or Xanax. They act very quickly but are not to be relied upon too heavily as tolerance and addiction can develop.
As for how to approach your mum on the subject, I can only say that it's best to describe to her exactly what it is that gets you anxious and how it makes you feel. Sometimes it is hard to find the right words, so please describe it to us and we can help. I also recommend you check the resources tab at the top of the page as there is lots of useful information to help cope.

Welcome xiat:, I'm sorry to hear you are struggling with anxiety at such a young age. I would recommend therapy first before getting on medication. Have your mom take you to the doctor and tell the doctor what is going on and they will give you a referral for therapy.
Post anytime you need too.

Hi Xiat and welcome!
I am so sorry to hear of the anxiety you are experiencing. I know that it can be so confusing and frightening! However, you are doing the right thing in recognizing your need for help, and reaching out...so WELL DONE!!
One way of
opening up a dialogue with your mom...especially if you are finding this difficult, is to ask your
school counselor
for help.
You can request to talk with your
counselor
and let him/her know what is going on...and come up with comfortable ways to approach your mom about
getting in to be seen by your doctor. Your counselor may even help facilitate this conversation alongside you...and be able to provide you with some great resources!
I agree with the above advice of getting into
therapy
first, and seeing how things there first. You will get great long term
coping skills
and
tools
this way, to help you manage the anxiety.:)
Keep posting here with us as well for support. We understand, care and are here to listen anytime.
There is help and hope! Let us know how do!

Hi
Welcome to the forum.
Sorry to hear you are having anxiety we can relate to what you are going through anxiety is a tough thing to live with but well done for reaching out here you have made the first step in asking for help.
The good news is lots can be done to help so I would either speak to your school counsellor or your parents and ask them for help i'm sure you will find them very supportive. I would them make an appointment with your doctor and ask for a referral to talking therapy.
Stay with us and keep posting we are here for you.

These out of body experiences you mention - do they happen before a panic attack or after? Or just from out of nowhere?
I have experienced the type of headache you mentioned, when I first started having anxiety issues 2 years ago. To me, it felt like you described it, like someone suddenly jabbing my brain. You may find this link helpful.

xiat. Welcome to the forum. I'm glad you found us for support, but too feel really bad that you are having anxiety problems at such a young age. The others have already given you great advice and I totally agree that a visit to your doctor is necessary. They can evaluate you and your symptoms and recommend a course of treatment needed, if any. We certainly aren't doctors and can't tell you what medications you should take.
As for telling your mother, I would sit down with her and explain how you're feeling and that you would like to go talk to your doctor about
it.
In the mean time, we are here to listen and support you! I wish you all the best!

Well if you can't talk to your mom, then like SC said talk to your school counselor they can talk to your mom with you or even for you. I wish you the best and keep posting here if it helps. :)

Xiat,
I am sorry to hear that communication with your mom can be difficult.:(
This is where your school counselor or even your doctor can help.
Start the converstation about
your anxiety with them...and then allow them to advocate for you with your mother.
Or, you may want to seek another trusted adult family member or friend...anyone to provide some back up and support for you.
You may be suprised at how much she understands, considering she too struggles with mental challenges. The important thing is to get the dialogue going in any way you can...
Let us know how it goes,
S.C.

Xiat try to forgive your Mother, people who do not experience this just can't relate to our problems, the
recommendation to see the school nurse is a good idea! Peace
