Effexor XR

Has anyone else taken Effexor for an extended time and had to switch because it wasn't working as well for them? If so, how long? I've been on Effexor XR 150 for a few years and am thinking it might not be working as well for me. I know I need to discuss this with my doctor first, but am just curious. I'd rather not take anything but don't think I'm strong enough for that option.

You may want to consider an increase first, as you are not at the maximum dosage for your med...

...just something to talk with your doctor about, as an increase is easier than a complete restart of a new med.:)

I agree with SC, and think maybe try increasing it first, before changing altogether

Hi.

I agree with the above re an increase first to see if that makes a difference.

I was on Effexor a few years ago at the same dose as you and found it to be a good medication but it is a really hard one to wean off so needs to be done very slowly over a couple of months.
