Hello everyone. It's been awhile since I've been on here or posted.. I've been having some anxiety! I go the 27th of July for surgery ony sinuses and I'm a little scared being I have to be put to sleep and the what if I don't make it what if the surgery don't work?! I've had a bunch of testing. Done for menieres and the doctor at u of m said she don't suspect menieres so finally had a cut scan done on sinuses and ent said surgery because antibiotics didn't help! I've been struggling for year :(

I am sorry to hear about your need for surgery...and your natural concern regarding this. Know that almost anyone facing surgery is nervous and unsure about the procedure and results/recovery.

This is not because there is reason to worry, but because the fear of the unknown is always a challenge.

Rest assured however, that what you are having done is routine, extremely low risk and minimally invasive. Your prognosis should be great...and your recovery easy as well :)

Asking your doctor as many questions as you need to in order to feel comfortable is your right...so don't be shy!

Keep posting with us, and we will help get you through this! It will be okay.:)

Thank you! This is my first surgery. I just hope it helps they thought for a little while it was menieres.. :( 2 doctors said it was and 2 say it's not. Seen a really good psychic (boyfriends dad he was born with it and is really good at the health stuff very rarely is he wrong) says it isn't menieres he also says sinuses but I have no pain it's mainly my ear giving me issues and vertigo.. Boyfriends dad says I have stuff building in my forehead and has been building for years ugh that was a little relief but still worried! I miss you guys!! How are you and stkitt?

I am sure that your dx is correct, and that you will be feeling much better after that pressure is relieved!

Things have been good here, with the exception of us losing our dear Kitt. Our hearts were truly broken...but we soldier on, and feel her presence here still.

Hibee is still moderating with me...and we were thrilled to welcome AngeLisa to the team recently! :)

I am sure you will be hearing from some old and new friends soon.

Welcome back to the forum but sorry to hear you are still having anxiety.

I can relate to your anxiety re surgery as I have had a number of surgeries over the years and have felt very anxious before them but I have got through all of them ok and i'm sure you will be fine. The last time I went under a general anaesthetic was when I had my wisdom teeth out and I was feeling particularly anxious and I mentioned this to the surgeon when he cam to see me before the operation and he told the nurse to give me some Valium which helped calm me before I went in.

Double up on any coping skills you have and keep us posted we are here for you.
