Big Moves

HW Family,
As much as my coping skills have worked tremendously, there are definitely some things in my life that I have needed to change and have been putting off out of sheer fear. The first being, finding a new dentist. The last dentist I was seeing drove me absolutely crazy, did not allow me to have a voice in my treatment plan (I am getting porcelain veneers) and would do things without my consent and then charge me for them. I was merely staying with her because she is my mom's dentist and I felt obligated since my mom set us up. But today, I went to a consultation with a new dentist and made the big girl move to have all of my paperwork faxed over from the old dentist to this new one who I absolutely loved and actually let me speak as to what I would like my mouth to look and feel like. For me, that's huge. I am afraid of disappointing people. I was afraid of disappointing my mom that I was switching doctor's. I was afraid of even hurting the old doctor's feelings. But, I breathed into the discomfort of it all and switched anyway. And it went without a hitch.

I have a job interview tomorrow. The job I am currently at (and have been at for a year now) has been wonderful but equally as frustrating with the scheduling conflicts (me working 6-7 days in a row with no break) and lack of proper management. I feel that I've grown too comfortable in this job and it's almost a cop out at this point because I have been afraid to push myself to do something bigger. But tomorrow is a huge interview for a position at a brand new fashion company, and would be a nice change for me. Prayers are much needed! Hopefully I don't look like a freak in the interview-- when I get anxious, for whatever reason, I go straight to twirling my hair and alternate between putting it back in a bun, and taking it out, and repeating this cycle until it's done. Lol.

Great job on making the switch today! I understand your feelings on this...as I have also had to work on some people pleasing tendencies.:)

Best wishes on your interview tomorrow! You will do great! Be prepared with some stock answers...'what are your strengths and weaknesses?' 'What can you bring to the company?'...ect.

Try folding your hands and putting them in your lap. If you can wear big ring...and turn it in so you feel it when your hands are folded...this may remind you to not unconsciously fiddle with your hair...?

I am sure though that you're going to make a great impression. :)
