Hi everyone,
My Dr. just switched my medication from .5mg xanax 3x a day to Tranxene 7.5 mg 3x a day. I am really nervous about
switching medications and the possible side effects. Is anyone currently on or have taken Tranxene before?

Hi Steph,
Do you know why your doctor made this switch?
This is, I'm assuming, one of the lesser known Benzodiazepine...because I had to look it up!
It is not as common as Xanax, or Valium or Ativan...
...but it is in the same class/family, so it should be an easy adjustment...since you should have a similar experience as you did with your Xanax.
Wishing you the best with your new Rx. I hope you find it performs even better than the previous one.:)

Thanks Scaredy Cat
He switched my medication because I was vuilding a tolerance to the Xanax and instead of upping my dosage, he thought this would be a better move because it is longer lasting in the system.
I have never heard of it either until today, but after alot of research it seems to be ok. It has alot of good reviews and def is a older lesser known benzo.
Im just having anxiety about
new anxiety medication.
scared of side effects. Just your basic obsessing on the what ifs...

Hi
I have not heard of this medication so can't really offer any input but it sounds like you have done your research and it's come back with good reviews so I hope it works well for you.
