DG,
Glad to hear you are feeling better today.:)
Yes, BP does flucuate and rise with anxiety...particularly panic...where it is part of a biological defense meant to prepare us for flight or fight!
Your doctor will likely have you monitor your BP at home for awhile to get an average...and idea of how often you are spiking...ect.
If you are only having higher readings while having a panic episode for example, the you may be advised to treat the spikes with an as needed medication...an anti anxiety perhaps.
If you are having pretty consistent borderline or high readings, a BP Rx (Beta Blocker) may be discussed.
The good news is that some do double duty in lowering blood pressure, and helping to manage anxiety! (Propanolol for example)
Exercise and diet are of course crucial as well...so you will want to make sure you are making lifestyle changes to get the best possible readings.:)
Best wishes, and, if you like, let us know how your appointment goes.
