I just wanted and almost need to know if there was anyone like me. My anxiety is pretty bad. It's always present. I'm ALWAYS nervous and anxious when there is no need to be. I used to get panic attacks but I really haven't had them recently. Just really bad anxiety and bad anxiety attacks throughout the day. Right from the moment I wake up I'm anxious and nervous with out any thought. I almost always have heart palpitations all the time.
My libido is non existent because of the chronic anxiety. It's basically anxiety about
anxiety really and anything that can stress me out makes it worse. It's like when I'm busy it's not so bad and I don't really have social anxiety. It's basically when I try to relax it kicks in. It's very frustrating. I really do believe I have a chemical imbalance.
It's like i obsess and think about
my health and anxiety so much I can't get any relief. Please don't suggest therapy because that's not really gonna help my case.
PLEASE is there anyone out there that was like me and found relief from medication? Did you get out of this vicious cycle of repetitive thoughts and feeling when medication kicked in? I am currently on Nefazodone and its doing nothing despite all the "great" reviews it's had.

L.S.
How long have you been on your Rx?
Have you tried any self help techniques?
I used to feel as you described in your post...but have come along in my recovery.
It can and will get better with time and effort. If you don't believe therapy is for you...
...then self help really is pretty crucial for you to embrace.
There simply is not a med that is going to fully cover all of your anxious feelings and symptoms.
Please check out our Resources at the top of the main forum page. The suggested skills really work.:)
Keep posting too...we are cheering you on!

Hi
Sorry to hear you are having a tough time at the moment.
I can relate to your post as I struggle with anxiety on a daily basis and have done for as long as I can remember due to having Asperger's Syndrome. I am on a combination of medications which you will see in my signature and find they do help ease my symptoms but it's important to remember that medications are not a cure all they will only help ease your symptoms.
I like to use Mindfulness Meditation and do this daily and find this helps keep my anxiety in check even more so than the medication I take.

Have you tried Lexapro ? That really helped me with my generalized anxiety.

It took me ages to found the right combo of meds to control my anxiety. Venlafaxine ended up being the winner for me. It still helps to have therapy as well though to identify and manage the thought patterns that lead to attacks.

No I haven't. I'm going to call the doctor and see what he thinks I should take.
